We hope this section helps our coaches prepare for their upcoming seasons! If you are a current coach, or would like to coach, please ensure that you read this information as there some requirements needed to coach at the recreation center!
Coaches Check List
1. Download or pick up the Volunteer Application - this applications ensures we have information to reach you as well as a code of conduct to sign. Unless your contact information changes, we would only need this once from our coaches.
2. Background Screens - ALL coaches must have a satisfactory background screen handed in to the staff before the start of their first game. If you do not supply the center with this check you are not permitted to coach. This is for the safety of the children and for the protection of all involved in the program. You may get your check through your desired organization, or you may use one of the groups we have listed on the flier which can be found on our information wall at the Recreation Center. Your check is good for 3 years.
The policy for background screens is readily available at the coaches request if you would like to have a copy which contains information on any issues which may disqualify a person from coaching.
3. Concussion Training - all coaches are required to complete this free but mandatory concussion course. Please copy and paste the below link into your brower:
You will "order" this course, but there is no cost associated with it. You will need to check out, complete the course, and then email/mail/bring a copy of the certificate in when finished.
4. Attending the coaches meeting - This is very important. Please let the center know if you plan on coaching. There are many times we are short coaches, and can not fill teams if we have no one to coach them. The earlier we know your availability, the earlier we can plan and create schedules. If you wish to coach with someone, we also need to know this early.
